The City of Moreno Valley has entered into an agreement with Skanska USA and Great American Insurance Company to continue the construction of the Moreno Beach Drive Bridge Project.

The surety bond company, Great American Insurance Company, selected Skanska USA to complete the Moreno Beach Drive Bridge Project due to the default of the previous contractor. The City and Skanska USA entered into a formal agreement on October 4, 2022, with a notice to proceed on October 10, 2022. 

“The agreement with Skanska USA and Great American Insurance Company ensures that our Moreno Beach Drive Bridge Project will get back on track and be completed in a timely manner,” said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. “I look forward to the completion of this beautiful new bridge that will make the Moreno Valley community proud.”

Construction for the Moreno Beach Drive Bridge Project will resume during the first week of November 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in October 2023. 

The Moreno Beach Drive project will replace the existing two-lane bridge with a new seven-lane bridge and reconfigure the north side of the interchange to allow easier access to and from the freeway. Improvements include a new westbound auxiliary lane, a dedicated southbound Moreno Beach Drive to westbound State Route 60 on-ramp, pavement rehabilitation, improved safety enhancements, and storm drain installation. 

Funding for the Moreno Beach Drive Bridge Project comes from State/Federal grants, multiple utility agencies, and developmental impact fees.

Nuevo contratista seleccionado para el proyecto del puente Moreno Beach Drive

La Ciudad de Moreno Valley ha llegado a un acuerdo con Skanska USA y Great American Insurance Company para continuar la construcción del proyecto del puente Moreno Beach Drive.

La compañía de fianzas, Great American Insurance Company, seleccionó a Skanska USA para completar el proyecto del puente Moreno Beach Drive debido al incumplimiento del contratista anterior. La Ciudad y Skanska USA celebraron un acuerdo formal el 4 de octubre de 2022, con un aviso para proceder el 10 de octubre de 2022.

“El acuerdo con Skanska USA y Great American Insurance Company asegura que nuestro proyecto del puente Moreno Beach Drive volverá a la normalidad y se completará de manera oportuna”, dijo el Dr. Yxstian Gutiérrez, Alcalde de Moreno Valley. “Espero con ansias la finalización de este hermoso puente nuevo que enorgullecerá a la comunidad de Moreno Valley”.

La construcción del proyecto del puente Moreno Beach Drive se reanudará durante la primera semana de noviembre de 2022 y está programado para completarse en octubre de 2023. 

El proyecto de Moreno Beach Drive reemplazará el puente existente de dos carriles con un nuevo puente de siete carriles y reconfigurará el lado norte del intercambio para permitir un acceso más fácil hacia y desde la autopista. Las mejoras incluyen un nuevo carril auxiliar en dirección oeste, un Moreno Beach Drive en dirección sur dedicado a la rampa de entrada de la ruta estatal 60 en dirección oeste, rehabilitación del pavimento, mejoras de seguridad, y mejoradas e instalación de drenaje pluvial.

Los fondos para el proyecto del puente Moreno Beach Drive provienen de subvenciones estatales/federales, varias agencias de servicios públicos y tarifas de impacto de desarrollo.
