The City of Moreno Valley has a new library branch. Today, Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez and the City Council cut the ribbon on the Iris Plaza Library, located at 16170 Perris Blvd. (Iris Ave. and Perris Blvd.). This state-of-the art library joins the Main Library on Alessandro Blvd. and the Moreno Valley Mall Branch as the City's third community learning center.

The new Iris Plaza Branch is filled with modern treasure for patrons of all ages to discover, including a dedicated technology area equipped with four gaming stations, virtual reality, robotics kits and more; six public computers and a printer-photocopier station that accepts both in-house and remote requests; free WiFi; and a self-checkout kiosk.

"Public libraries are important components of healthy communities," explained Mayor Gutierrez, "because of the knowledge they provide and the curiosity they nurture, and for being places set aside specifically for the purpose of learning and discovery."

The Iris Plaza Branch, along with the Main Library and Mall Branch, are now open with coronavirus restrictions, including a maximum of 25 percent of patron capacity:

• Main: Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m; Friday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m; Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m; Sunday, noon - 5 p.m.
• Mall Branch (as of 9-1-20): Monday - Saturday, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
• Iris Plaza Branch: Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m; Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Patrons also can get a free library card, search the library catalog and order library materials for pickup online at www.moval.org/mv-library.

El Alcalde y El Concejo Municipal Cortaron la Cinta Para La Inauguración de la Tercera Biblioteca de Moreno Valley

La ciudad de Moreno Valley tiene una nueva biblioteca. Hoy, el Alcalde Yxstian Gutiérrez y el Concejo Municipal cortaron la cinta para la inauguración de la Biblioteca Iris Plaza, ubicada en 16170 Perris Blvd. (Iris Ave. y Perris Blvd.). Esta biblioteca moderna se une a la biblioteca principal en Alessandro Blvd. y la biblioteca localizada en el centro comercial de Moreno Valley como el tercer centro de aprendizaje comunitario de la ciudad.

La nueva biblioteca de Iris Plaza está llena de tesoros modernos para los clientes de todas las edades, que incluye una área de tecnología dedicada equipada con cuatro estaciones de juegos, realidad virtual, kits de robótica y más; seis computadoras públicas y una estación de fotocopiadora de impresoras que acepta solicitudes internas y remotas; Wi-Fi gratis; y un quiosco de auto pago.

"Las bibliotecas públicas son elementos importantes de las comunidades saludables", explicó el alcalde Gutiérrez, "por el conocimiento que brindan y la curiosidad que alimentan, y por ser lugares reservados específicamente para el aprendizaje y el descubrimiento".

Las bibliotecas ahora están abiertas con restricciones del coronavirus, incluido un máximo del 25 por ciento de la capacidad de los usuarios:

• Biblioteca Principal: de lunes a jueves, de 9 a.m. a 8 p.m.; viernes, de 9 a.m. a 6 p.m.; sábado, de 9 a.m. a 5 p.m.; y domingo, mediodía a 5 p.m.
• Biblioteca del Centro Comercial (a partir del 9-1-20): de lunes a sábado de 11 a.m. a 7 p.m.
• Biblioteca de Iris Plaza: de lunes a viernes, de 10 a.m. a 8 p.m.; sábado, de 10 a.m. a 6 p.m.

También puede obtener una tarjeta de biblioteca gratis, buscar en el catálogo de la biblioteca y pedir materiales de la biblioteca para recogida en línea en www.moval.org/mv-library.
