Moreno Valley Police Department Limits Access to Public Safety Building
Police Will Continue to Address Priority Crimes Immediately
For immediate release: March 20 2020
Effective immediately, residents will have limited access to the front lobby of the Moreno Valley Police Department. Most in-person service at City facilities has been suspended during restricted City Hall operations imposed due to the coronavirus crisis.
“Public safety is our number-one priority,” explained Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. “Today, public safety includes slowing the spread of coronavirus and making sure our officers stay healthy so they can continue to serve and protect our community.”
Although the Public Safety Building lobby doors will be locked, an officer will be available between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to greet residents and assess their needs. Those reporting a crime will be asked to wait in their vehicle or outside until an officer is available to help. All priority crimes, such as domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assaults, and other crimes, which require immediate assistance, will be investigated.
For low-level criminal activity, residents may contact police dispatch at 951-776-1099 to initiate a telephone report.
