Moreno Valley Employment Resource Center Launches "Training Tuesdays"
Free Workshops to Enhance MoVal Workforce
For immediate release: February 6, 2020
The City of Moreno Valley Economic Development Department has launched a new series of free workshops designed to help job seekers become more desirable potential employees.
The new "Training Tuesdays" workforce development workshop series will provide job seekers from across the region with training and resources to learn new skills, gain a competitive advantage and prepare for future work opportunities. The second Tuesday of each month will be dedicated to serving the area's military community of veterans, active-duty personnel and their families.
Training Tuesdays, held at the City's Employment Resource Center (ERC), complements the popular "Small Business Wednesdays" workshop series, both of which are offered free of charge.
The Moreno Valley Employment Resource Center is located at 12625 Frederick St., Suite K-3, in the TownGate Shopping Center.
"The important services that the City provides through the Employment Resource Center are benefiting the region's overall economic climate," said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. "Training Tuesdays is another great idea that addresses our residents' real needs by providing real skills they can use to succeed."
The City is able to offer these helpful and informative workshops through partnerships with key education and non-profit partners, including California Baptist University (CBU), Moreno Valley College (MVC) Career and Technical Education (CTE), Riverside Community College District (RCCD), Moreno Valley Adult School, Youth Opportunity Center (YOC), Work for Warriors, and Veterans Affairs located at Loma Linda Healthcare System.
Training Tuesdays workshops planned for 2020 include core training on resume and interview preparation, Networking to Advance Your Career, Social Media Cleansing, Making a Rock-Star LinkedIn Profile, and Aligning Personal and Professional Goals.
